Mountain Creek Contractors is a North and South Carolina licensed General Contractor with an unlimited-unclassified license in both states, specializing in a wide range of aspects of concrete construction, including box culverts, deep foundations, shoring, and many aspects of heavy civil concrete construction. The company is led by a management team of well-known and respected project management professionals with over a century of combined experience with a wide range of projects from Florida to New York and across the entire Southeastern United States.

The company, which has offices in Catawba, North Carolina and Charleston, South Carolina, was formed in 1999 and performs work both as a general contractor and subcontractor, from projects as small as a single box culvert to large multi-phase public and private projects. Mountain Creek understands the importance that the prompt completion of its work items play in the overall completion of projects and works to meet the needs of both clients and general contractors, placing a priority upon exceeding expectations with a strong record of early completion of work.

Mountain Creek has considerable experience with box culvert construction in both Carolinas, including almost every major urban freeway loop job in North Carolina in the last 10 years, where meeting time frames is crucial. This includes several Interstate and major highway projects, including I-85 in Durham I-485 in Charlotte and I-540 outer loops in Raleigh in North Carolina and I-520 in North Augusta, South Carolina; as well as the Knightsdale Bypass (U.S. Route 64), first NCDOT Design Build highway project. Mountain Creek has also completed box culverts on private and other public civil projects, including at the Charlotte-Douglas International Airport, Greensboro International Airport and the S.C. Route 5 widening project in western York County, South Carolina.

Mountain Creek was recently selected for what will be the company’s largest project to date: the Monroe Bypass freeway project in Union County, North Carolina. This project will entail the construction of thirty culvert structures for a new twenty-mile freeway to be constructed east of Charlotte.

With its multiple-crew approach, attention to detail, and commitment to meeting the accelerated schedule, Mountain Creek has exceeded expectations and time tables on each of these projects. Many of these projects have required complex shoring, both temporary and permanent, to maintain the flow of traffic on existing roadways and divert existing water channels. Our company can work off existing plans or can work with a client to develop custom solutions as needed.
